I saw a huge improvement in the SAS documentation, and the Libraries here in the Communities. Massive kudos and thanks to everyone involved.   Now with the SAS partnership with Microsoft:   Would it be possible to create a portal focused on this partnership? The content can be where it already is, the point would be offering a view/portal where the resources can be found and prioritized in one go. As I realize it is not being obvious to many, I thought it could be useful.   The idea would be to collect those amazing resources and create subsets by matter of interest:   - SAS Administrator/Architect: architecture, requirements, deployment, quick starts, kubernetes, containers etc - Programming/Analytics: where some topics might be linked to above, i.e DevOps, SAS Model Manager, etc - At the top, a handful of resources, the most important ones as main guidelines; then below the full list, which are important, but depend on area of interest.   I.e, my personal top 4 / starting point are:   Important Performance Considerations When Moving SAS® to a Public Cloud (M. When you browse to where you want to go, it’s expanded. When you add a new file via an ODS or other statement or you save a program, after you’ve done so it reverts back to being collapsed. This can become encumbering particularly during development so if there is/was an option to keep this expanded, that would be great.   ... View more

Would it be possible to add something like TZONES2U() (converts a SAS datetime to a UTC datetime) or TZONEU2S() (converts a UTC datetime to a SAS datetime) to the list of Data Time operators in SAS Visual Analytics.  this would allow for data sets to be stored with 1 datetime column that could be converted to local times on the fly. ... In EG 7.x, when a project was run, the results were automatically displayed.  In EG 8.x, this feature was turned off.  SAS Technical Support indicated this was design feature to improve performance.  Although, this would be nice to be able to be controlled by the preferences.  Many of our users kick off their projects to run and are not necessarily monitoring it or have the 'Submission Status' displayed, so there isn't any visual indication that the project actually ran.  In the past, they used the displayed results as this indication.   The idea is to allow the user to set in their preferences whether or not to display the results within a project.  Currently, they don't have this option and they are not happy this functionality was removed in 8.x. ... Currently in SAS University Edition if you try and render your notebook to PDF you'll get an error because the packages required (tex?) are not available. There's some workarounds to get this fixed but its not straightforward or intuitive and you have to essentially get around the security.  Please ship the SAS UE VM with the correct packages to render notebooks to HTML and PDF please.    Thanks!! ... Please, allow sorting of nodes when editing Ordered List.     Like a throwback to when I use to type line numbers in BASIC code when I was a teenager, I have developed this system of numbering my project's nodes in Enterprise Guide.  When I'm creating a new Ordered List and I'm adding the first nodes to it, I can easily "Add" and then sort the nodes, named and numbered as such (see illustration), that are shown in the "Select" dialog (the dialog presented after pressing "Add") which allows me to avoid having to use the Up and Down buttons repetitively to orient the individual nodes in the Ordered List.  But when I want to add nodes afterwards, the way it stands, I have to either 1) remove all the nodes in the ordered lists and "re-Add" them (add and sort using the select dialog) or 2) add the single node and resort to the use of using Up and Down buttons repetitively.       I understand that it would be horrible if someone opened an Ordered List and then accidently sorted their list in an undesirable orientation and then accidently saved it, and I can see that perhaps this reason is why the sorting ability was not added to this dialog's object list.  But then, maybe this its too much to ask for.  I'm throwing this idea out there.  Maybe it will be considered. ... I want to be able to manually adjust the size of the objects within prompt containers to make them wider, shorter, on my own.  Sometimes the auto sizing can be aesthetically unfriendly.  Ex: sometimes I have a data attribute assigned to a list object, and I might have 1 value within that attribute that is a longer length of characters across hundreds of potential values, and I don't want the object to size ridiculously wide just for that one value.  If I manually size it smaller than the largest value length, then give me a side scroll bar for a user to still see it, or show the description fully upon mouse hover. ... In order for EG to find updates, it would be very helpful if EG could be enabled to open the connection through a proxy server; this would make it easier to get the EG updates for people behind firewalls. In SAS EG 6.1 when descriptions for prompts are displayed they're not always wrapped which results in the description not being visible to users. I've noticed this issue seems to only happen with my date prompts. Maybe this is a bug? On Viya you have the possibility to sort the data of a table through the custom sorting. But this has a limitation in case the data are so many. Among the requests I need to sort the data in a very specific order. In the database I have an attribute composed of numerical values ​​that represents the order in which I have to display the elements of the table. In the normal table, thanks to the possibility of inserting this attribute as a hidden element, it allows me to sort the table elements for that element, but as far as the crosstab is concerned this is not possible and it is very complicated being a noteworthy database items using custom sorting. I'd like to see an option added to PROC PRINT that would print to the SAS log the total number of observations in the SAS dataset before filtering.  This information could easily be queried from DICTIONARY.TABLES and echoed to the SAS log.   For example:     proc print data=younameit (obs=7) totobs; title 'younameit'; run; NOTE: There were 7 of 34417 observations read from the data set YOUNAMEIT. I've been using SAS Studio for a few months now as my main SAS environment (after coming from a predominantly PC Base SAS environment) and I've compiled a list of minor user-experience improvements that could be made to SAS Studio.  I didn't want to flood the ballots with a long list of minor changes and this seems to be the best place to provide feedback requests to SAS so I'm putting them all here.   They are in no particular order.    Some additional keyboard shortcuts would be nice, such as: CTRL-H (bring up find/replace, consistent with shortcut used in word and doesn't conflict with shortcut used by any major browser). CTRL-RIGHT ARROW when browsing data to see the next 100 records Resetting the session with F9 should provide more feedback to the user: Provide confirmation that the session is being reset.  Provide confirmation that the session was successfully reset and is ready to use again Option to turn off the drag-drop functionality for moving directories on the file browser.  Chrome scrollbars are very skinny (ugh) and a missed pixel can result in you dragging a random folder into another random folder when you're just trying to grab and move the scrollbar. When viewing a table, option to right-click column header and choose fit-width.  Manually adjusting is too finicky. Scrolling an editor with the middle mouse scroll wheel is very jerky in chrome - it jumps 16 lines at a time.  I've been unable to find a workable fix yet. Pressing the INSERT key to go into insert mode should change the appearance of the cursor.  If this is a browser limitation at least give us a visual indication that we're in insert mode in the status bar. After pasting text in the editor, pressing the down arrow key should move the cursor down to immediately below the original position of the cursor prior to the paste action (same as Base SAS Enhanced Editor). Holding shift then clicking on a line number (ie. just outside of editor window) to highlight a range should work.  Clicking between the first character on the line and the edge of the window is finicky. When I have multiple .sas files open in the editor, and I am on the leftmost editor tab, if I double-click to view a table, then close that table browser, I should return to the same tab I was on, and the same place within that tab. Saving a program that has not yet been saved as something should bring up the save-as prompt.  Not just save the document as program1.sas in some non-obvious location. Accidentally expanding a directory in the file browser that contains thousands of files/folders makes Studio cry.  A way to cancel/interrupt this process would be nice.   ... View more
