Currently in the SAS Customer Intelligence/Marketing Automation UI, when a user is within a specific campaign they do have search capabilities. However the extent of the search capabilities are extremely limited.   The enhancement I am recommending would be similar to the search capabilities that already exist within SAS Enterprise Guide. What I mean is, the search capability in SAS Enterprise guide will search everything within the entire project tree where there are text matches. The main benefit to this feature in SAS EG, that is lacking in SASCI/MA, the ability to quickly and easily locate where certain variables are being used within a campaign. In EG, I can very easily identify where a certain variable is referenced throughout the entire code in the project. However, within the SASCI/MA campaigns, the only way to identify these details is to run a search against the output summary report produced.   Adding this advanced search functionality (for use within the actual campaigns and potentially even at the business context level, so that we can see if a variable/stored process/etc are used) will allow for easier identification and updating of processes through their lifecycle.   Often times, changes can arise where a query needs to be updated to use a different variable, or we need to identify and change nodes where a specific stored process exists. With the way the current User Interface Search functionality works, there is no easy way to find the necessary nodes and make the updates without producing and searching an external document or hoping that the naming conventions of the nodes align with whatever you are searching. ... Dear SAS R&D,   At the moment, notification functionality is configured in manual mode for each campaign.       I believe that adding an editable template will help a lot for email messages sent by triggers on business context level. I'm sure adding more campaign states will work wonders. Possible states: - an approved (read-only) campaign that can be run without the possibility of modification - an approved (read-only) campaign, which status can be changed from approved to design   This option can be added in the business context settings. Similar to the option to change approved campaigns to Read-Only status.   But the best solution in my opinion is the creation of a fully-fledged campaign state tuner. When accessing help internet explorer is launched to access help online.   SAS Support say "I can confirm that the behaviour you are seeing is expected and by design. Please note that the help of some of the procedures point to a specific User's Guide, such as the SAS/STAT User's Guide in the case of the GLIMMIX procedure, and these User's Guides are not part of the offline help files that are installed on your computer. Thus, it is not possible to prevent these from being redirected to the SAS Documentation website."   There are many circumstances when working offline is essential or simply the only option due to lack of internet coverage. For recurring campaigns if the table names could make use of parameters it would help create an archive for each run. For example of occurrence number was a paramter available a tablename could be something like 'newstorecampaign&occurrence..txt'   I have a case where the printer is requesting a file to be split up as different creatives use different envelopes. If each export could have a filter it would be much simpler than individual communications. Not to mention with MOMA multiple communications are already being used simply for offers. The more functionality with a communication node the better. Using our case as an example export1 would have all records that get a Welcome envelope and export2 would have all records for customers that receive a regular envelope.  ... View more

We export to Teradata on a regular basis. It would be great to have the ability to append to a table after replacing previously placed data. So the campaign data that was exported yesterday will have it's export date. Todays campaign data will have todays date. If it needs to be re-executed todays data could be deleted but yesterdays would be preserved. Similar to how contact history is stored except that it would be purged. Contact history doesn't store custom attributes at a subject level  which is part of why this is sought. This would be a function added to the Append option.   The Truncate table option is to help when writing to a table where the admins have restricted access to the SAS CI Service account to not be able to drop a table. In the CI Community @chicoscai had asked if it was  possible to create Shared Control Groups. I too am searching for the functionality in CIS 6.4. It appears that control groups are only created out of a given segment. My department is manually lining up several test groups with a single control group for the Analytics Team. It would be great if the linking between Control Group and multiple Marketing Cells was possible.   Say for example if a split node could have a hold out group that is linked to all of the cells that come out of the split node. Or to have a control group node that would be able to look at all cells downstream that land in a communication node and record a link to them.   Thanks. ... View more
