Highlight items when selected in explorer window

I like being able to see a dataset or folder etc. is selected when clicked once. In this version of SAS EG, clicking on a dataset or a folder doesn't highlight/select it. You need to click it twice.

 

Also if you right click on an item, it doesn't highlight it.

 

This is minor but would be a simple and quick change.

The SAS Enterprise Guide user interface changed quite a bit between v7.1 and v8.x, and at this point it's unlikely to change further. If I understand you, you would like a single-click in the project tree to activate the data set view in the project content view. There are certain options in Tools->Options that can influence what content is activated when (ex: "Move focus to the tab that is displayed"), but I don't think there is an option to toggle for your request.

 

Since SAS Enterprise Guide isn't receiving any new major updates or features, marking this as Not Planned. SAS Studio is the new primary programming/task/flow interface for SAS Viya, and it receives new features with each monthly release.
