Manually deleting work datasets while SAS is still processing is a dangerous efficiency. You may want to look at some of the BBU. "Professional SAS Programming Secrets" comes to mind as useful here. You could also search support.sas.com under "efficiency" or "disk space". Some initial ideas that effect the SAS temp file storage: --You could add PROC DATASETS in your job stream to delete datasets you no longer need. --If you are running out of space during sorts, you could change the sort parameters to do a TAGSORT. --You could point your work directory to a disk drive with more disk space, hardware is cheap these days and adding a local disk drive may be better than using a network drive (this is changed in sasv8.cfg or sasv9.cfg). --You could create datasets as VIEWs instead of work files. --Judicious use of KEEP and DELETE can save lots of space. --LENGTH statements are important in large datasets. We have found that putting that work directories local to the server enhances performance because it minimizes network traffic (even though we are using a dedicated gigabit pipe, the network writes take longer than bus-based writes). We are doing it with two Unix (Solaris) servers. The share on the SAN is directly connected to one server and we use NFS mounting to allow the other server to access the data. It's transparent to the users, though there is a bit of a performance hit for large datasets. (We did it because the SAN controller requires Solaris 10 and the older server is still on Solaris 9.x, I'm not sure if it is a general requirement to do it that way in Unix.) ... View more

This sounds more like a coding problem than a missing value problem. If the Dummy variable is coded 0/1, then it is never missing. If PROC LOGISTIC is showing the dummy as having df=0, then matrix is singular and either the variable is conceptually redundant with your other variables or operationally redundant because you don't have enough observations. ... Chuck, Under "Graph Format", there is a drop-down arrow that includes choice for "ActiveX". Once you select ActiveX, the screen below dynamically changes to show the options for ActiveX under the SAS 8 or SAS 9 server, "Use these URLs for the codebase" are the executables to install the ActiveX control on the recipients computer. I hadn't tried the "ActiveX image" choice as the help said it was only available for the "SAS System for Windows server", which I took to mean the SAS System running on a Windows Server operating system (note the difference capitalization makes!). Chuck, are you asking about how to set up for e-mail from EGuide 4.1? It's set up in tools --> options --> E-Mail Settings (the last choice). For me, the hardest part was finding the name of my SMTP gateway; I had to call IT support for that. F1 takes you to more help.
