We have a data source that provides very comprehensive documentation on the data in the form of an HTML file.   We'd like to have that directly accessible through VA, but are unsure how to configure it on the server. Is there a specific directory we can place this HTML file in that we can provide a link to?    If not, is there an ability to load the documentation through a stored process?    Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!   Thanks ... I have a problem where I will open EG, run my process and let EG idle after completion for a bit (the project takes a while and I work on other things until I'm ready to return).    However, when this happens and I let EG idle for ~10 minutes, the next action raises an error and EG stops working. The only way to resolve this is to restart EG.    "SDS Failed to provide the SAS workspace"    I look in the log and I see that that the connection to the workspace server fails the "IsWorkspace Alive()" test fails.    In the logs I see: 2019-03-08 13:59:47,920 [35] ERROR SAS.EC.Directory.Model.Server [(null)] - IsWorkspaceAlive() - Test failed . . <trying authentication>  . 2019-03-08 13:59:47,926 [36] ERROR SAS.EC.Directory.Model.Server [(null)] - Connection failed to <host:port>   When i look in the Object Spawner logs, I see the credentials are accepted and a connection returned.    2019-03-08T14:24:39,862 INFO [00882728] :<user>- New client connection (76694) accepted from server port 8591 for user <user>. Encryption level is Credentials using encryption algorithm SASProprietary. Hi All, I'm sure this has been asked but I'm struggling to get the county level map working.   First I followed this: http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/vaag/69958/HTML/default/viewer.htm#n09tvhnyrosr8mn1nmw7u3akrb1e.htm But i was struggling a bit to understand what the code was doing, and then stumbled onto this: http://support.sas.com/kb/61/209.html   According to that second link, all I needed to do was register the new libref (and create directory), make backups of my ATTRLOOKUP and CENTLOOKUP tables, then drop the provided tables in and then drop the polygon file into the new mapscstm directory.   I've done that, then I have a dataset that is FIPs codes and a measure. For example, the FIPS codes are merely "US-01001" and the measure is a frequency count.   When I bring this into VA and go to map it, I select "Subdivision (State, Province) SAS Map ID Values" as my geography object and drop it into my regions plot.    This seems to work, except nothing is actually plotted. I no longer get the error in the bottom corner telling me it couldn't map my FIPs codes, and I see the legend appear on the map. However, there are no polygons plotted or filled in.    Can anyone explain where I went wrong? I was planning on really getting into the polygon-import script tomorrow, but for now I really needed a simple choropleth.   Thanks for your help, David ... View more

We are running SAS 9.4M5 and SAS Visual Analytics 7.4   We structured our SAS Folder Directory similar to this       | SAS Folders  ---| Departments --------| Sales -------------| LASR Tables -------------| Source Tables -------------| Reports -------------| Queries --------| Marketing -------------| LASR Tables -------------| Source Tables -------------| Reports -------------| Queries ---| (Other SAS FOLDERS) This has become inadequate and I've been asked to restructure so that "Departments" is used purely for reports and a new folder called "Data Sources" holds the LASR/Source/Queries information.    Is this possible? My plan was just to rename the existing folder to "Data Sources" and create a new "Departments", but if I rename the folder from "Departments" to "Data Sources" then all the metadata associated with the source tables would need to be updated, correct?    Is there an efficient or more effective way to rename the folder so that all the Source metadata and LASR information isn't screwed up?    Thanks!   ... Our LASR table shows a modified time of 2:33pm, but in a report the [Table Modified Time] value, which has been inserted into a text box, shows 1:33pm   I couldn't find a SAS setting and so it led me to my system time settings.   I noticed that my TZ was set to UTC-5:00 for EST, however because it's DST it's really only UTC-4:00. When i changed my TZ to be another one that is -4:00 the time showed correctly on the report.   I noticed that my windows setting "detect daylight savings time automatically" was checked. I believe this is a bug with SAS that it did not account for DST when it computed that time.   Is this confirmed? Did I do something wrong otherwise?    Thanks    ... View more

HI All, my users were reporting that performance had slowed down yesterday. It had been a while since we had installed updates so I stopped LASR servers, stopped the SAS servers, and ran the updates and rebooted. We have a number of departments that are less than technical, and during rollout of our reports we found that the users struggled to find the "correct" report containing the info they were afto. While we did our best to organize our folder structure into departmental folders and put descriptive text for report titles, at the end of the day a single "file name" is not enough to describe what is contained in a single report. A common complaint was that it would take multiple opening/closing of reports to find the specific section that they were looking for. Sure, more competent users and some of our "quicker" users got it fast, but it was still a common complaint.    One thing we thought about was creating a database table that would have descriptions and information for each report. From there we'd load it into LASR and now there would be a report that acts as the central "directory lookup" for all the other reports.    This isn't a foolproof idea though, and I was hoping the community might have some ideas for overcoming this.    Does the REST-API allow us to gather file directories? Is it possible to build a platform that sits on top of SAS and allows us to link to reports and dynamically generate directories?    Am I missing a built in SAS solution that we should be leveraging?    Not sure how to proceed, hoping for some good ideas.   Thanks! ... I have "number of seconds" as my measure and I'd like to convert to an HH:MM:SS format.    I noticed that SAS doesn't have an equivalent to oracle's numToDSInterval so I looked around and found the TimeFromHMS except I only have seconds.   First I tried passing (0, 0, sec_var) but that didn't seem to work right. Then I tried calculating each digit value using MOD() and FLOOR()   But this never seemed to work right either. For some reason MOD(seconds, 60) does nothing and returns values well above 60.    Does anyone know a way I can create this variable for my reports that will also be "aggregatable" so that I can show "total hh:mm:ss" on my charts?   Thanks ... Hi all, I seem to have an error in my content server mapping.    While configuring HTTPS i noticed that when I changed the webdav location in the "SAS Folders" properties, I was given the rror "serviceURL required" after hitting ok, however I noticed the metadata updated appropriately and all my web services work correctly.   Now i'm facing the sole issue that within my management console I still get that error any time I close the SASFolders properties, and I also cannot copy/paste files from the folder view. However, from within the web applications I can open any report, and save it to the correct location. It is only in Management Console that I'm having an issue   I followed the typical instructions about copying the cacerts and jssecacerts files from the middle tier to my client, but that did not resolve it.    Can anyone help me find where I went wrong? I followed the steps exactly but when run `<conf>/Lev1/Web/Scripts/WebServer/appsrvconfig.sh start` to restart my webserver I am given this error:    Please check the running status from the log files in the directory /sas/config/Lev1/Web/Scripts/WebServer/logs for more details. Latest backup file of sas.conf is: sas.conf.2018-03-08-11.12.21 [exec] Result: 1 An unexpected error occurred. Please refer to the log for more details.   When i look in the tail of the log, I see the this error: Caused by: java.lang.Exception: start failed with return code 1     I think this is a problem with my httpd-ssl.conf file that isn't set correctly. I was given 3 certificates and a private key. my certificates are the trustred root, the intermediary, and my server. I followed the instructions here and concatenated my 3 certs into a single chain file. I then configured it as follows:   SSLCertificateFile "ssl/sas_server_key.crt" SSLCertificateKeyFile "ssl/prvtkey.pem" SSLCertificateChainFile "ssl/certchain.pem"   Does anyone see where I went wrong and why I would get that java lang exception?  ...
