Greetings, We are no longer using SAS Visual Analytics or SAS Enterprise guide and have moved to SAS 9.4 Analytics Pro. Is it possible to run SAS Enterprise Guide (.egp) projects in Analytics Pro? We were told by SAS we could do this, but I am not seeing a way to accomplish it. If not, is it possible to run multiple programs, as you would in a project in EG in SAS Analytics pro? Thanks, Gary

Greetings, OK, so I have a dataset where each row has -course -faculty -student -Group_Name There are five different groups for the Group_Name value. Is it possible to use SURVEYSELECT to take a random sample where at least one record from each group is produced and keep my results to an overall N? I have used PROC SURVEYSELECT to produce data where each group in represented using STRATA Group_Name;, but each group is also equal to my N. In other words, five groups of 31 in my output data (155 records) instead of a total of 31 records with each of the five groups represented at least once. PROC SURVEYSELECT DATA = Data_In OUT = Data_Out n=31 seed = 12345 method = srs; STRATA Group_Name; RUN ; To restate my question, I would like to produce only 31 records in my Data_Out dataset, but have each "Group" represented at least once. Commenting out the line "STRATA Group_Name;" line produces 31 records equaling my N value, and has up to now produced at least one record from each group, but is this how PROC SURVEYSELECT functions or have I simply been lucky? Thanks, Gary

Greetings... I need to export a csv file from SAS EG to a SharePoint site. I can sort of do it, but I need to export to the institution's SharePoint site, not my personal SharePoint site. For example, I can export to here; C:\Users\12345678\OneDrive - Santa Fe College\Institutional Research Reports Data\ But I need to export to here; https :// sfcollegeedu.sharepoint.com/sites/InstitutionalResearch/Institutional%20Research%20Reports%20Dat I am not an IT admin, so I apologize up front for any lack of clarity. Thank you, Gary P.S. We are moving to PC SAS in the near future. This a centers around moving to Power BI. Thank you, Gary

Hey Quentin...thanks for the evaluation. Big help. We will be running Base SAS from PC's. We did this about five/six years ago before moving to SAS VA/EG. I have also used PC SAS more about three decades. It has simply been the tool available, I was never involved with a conversion or install outside of going to EG. So again, your input is very helpful. Our office has a dedicated email account which has helped with issues as you describe and we do not do a lot of it, but for a couple of instances it is a requirement. Yes, SAS tried to get us to move to Viya, but the price tag was way more than what we can afford, or maybe willing to afford. The only use for PC SAS is we will have is to keep the current programs running in order to generate the required data for reporting. My guess is as we retire/move on those programs will be re-coded into something different. I have generated text and Excel files from SAS EG and have used them successfully in MS Power BI which I believe is where the organization is going. It will be part of a significant upgrade from MS. From your input it seems we should be good to go if we move to Base SAS for PC and get SAS/ACCESS for ODBC, AND SQL. These are really the only connections we use (really only SQL). I am guessing PC Base SAS will have import functions for Office files (Excel, txt, csv, etc.). I do have the Base SAS Software Fact Sheet, but these topics are not clear. I am simply trying to minimize surprises. Thanks, Gary

Good morning all, Our organization is making a change in our reporting platform and moving away from SAS EG and SAS Visual Analytics. With that said, we wish to keep our SAS programming using it to create and export datasets for use outside of SAS VA and in the new platform. These datasets are currently being used in SAS VA in a SAS LASR server. We are going to export these datasets into the new repository/location for new report development, most likely MS Power BI. I am thinking this is certainly possible through Base SAS, but we will still need some functionality beyond just the creating and exporting of datasets. For example, we will need to connect to SQL servers, import/export text and Excel files, and send email notices from the SAS programs as we currently do. With the wealth of experience and knowledge in this community, would it be possible to get anyone's insights to the best approach, that is, what we would need as add-ons for Base SAS? Any/all graphing and data presentation/reporting will be done outside of SAS. Also, any experience or guidance on a move such as this would certainly be appreciated. Thank you as always, Gary

Greetings everyone, I am trying to help our IT group. How can we tell how many times a SAS VA report is viewed or accessed? I am guessing there are log files or possibly a stored report that would provide this information. Thank you all as always! Gary

Greetings everyone, So, I have been asked to provide in a single crosstab and accompanying graph(s) for the following scenario an overall success rate for an entire division, an overall success rate for an entire Department, an overall success rate for an entire Program, an overall success rate for an entire course, and then a specific faculty members success rate for the course(s) they have taught. The faculty member's information comes from a dataset/LASR table of all faculty at the college and their individual success rates, but the faculty member viewing the SAS VA report only sees their information. I do not believe this is possible if for no other reason than information being displayed is filtered by each subsequent area thus eliminating the possibility of calculating metrics for an overall data point. I am wondering if there is a some functionality that would allow the combining of data such as the overall metrics from multiple sources with the table using row level security? The attached PDF is an idea of what the users are looking for. The "My Courses" bar would be the specific faculty member success rate for the course(s) they taught for a given term and year. The "All CHM1025" and "ALL CHM2046" are the overall success rates for those courses for a given term and year. The "Chemistry" bar is the Department success rate for all courses in the given Department for a given term and year. The "Nat Science" is the Program success rate the given Department for the given term and year.(Division isn't included here, but would be another bar titled "Liberal Arts & Sciences)) I can create each of the metrics as individual crosstabs and line /bar charts, but the users are looking to have all of this information in one crosstab and graph. Thank you as always for your help. Regards, Gary

Hey Rushabh_45, The guidance given after your post is how we were able to resolve the issue and we did not have to rebuild the report. SAS Tech needs to see your xml file and the solution came through that system, not here. The solution/fix was pretty quick. Good luck.

Greetings, We have loaded a table to our LASR server via the autoload process and now need to access it via the SAS® Environment Manager Administration tool to apply filtering for specific users. We have done this a few times before and it works well. We are using something similar to ( 'Instructor_ID'n Contains 'SUB::SAS.UserID' ) OR ( 'SUB::SAS.UserID' Contains 'Instructor_ID'n ) Our problem is that the list of tables when we navigate to the proper location via the "Folders" icon in the SAS® Environment Manager Administration. What we see are tables with titles starting with A though P, but we have many tables with names that start with letters after "P" in the alphabet. Those do not appear in our list. If we select the "LASR" icon in the SAS® Environment Manager Administration webpage we do see the table and if we use SAS Management Console we see the table as well. It seems that the Environment Manager Administration only allows the displaying of a certain number of tables. I have attached a PDF of a few screen shots to help clarify what I am trying to describe. Thank you for your help. Gary Product name: SAS® Environment Manager Administration Release: 2.6 Build date: May 8, 2019 at 9:33:45 PM EDT And we are running SAS VA 7.5.

Thank you Nataljak. The image below is how I set it up. Program2 and Program3 both have this condition which work as expected. The macro variable, &ReturnCode_1, is set in Program1. Email is sent regardless of the condition. The conditions work fine for the selection of which program to run, but the email is sent regardless of the condition. It appears to me that the email process exists in the "Distribution" processing whereas the condition logic only applies to the "Process Flow" processing. We use server based SAS EG and MS Office365 as our email system. Although I understand that sending email in my program is supposedly possible, I have been unable to locate in the SAS Community a version that works for our situation, yet I can send email easily via the "Send To" - - -> "Email Recipient as a step in the project" methodology. Regards, Gary
