I requested this to SAS Tech Support early last year, and was hoping that would come through in 4.3 but with no success... Suggest if you want this feature is to send a request to Tech support and hopefully they may see some demand for this. Hi Windows 2005 server? Didn't realise there was a 2005. Because you are using 32 bit windows machine, you are going to run into limitations/constraints. SAS Metadata is a in memory process, and loads "modules" when someone accesses that part of metadata and you'll hit issues when the process memory is around 1.9GB so cleaning up you metatdata will only do so much. From what Chris has written you don't need to upgrade but if you need/what the better integration you should. In regards to the upgrade question After a little more research. If you are using a deployment plan, it will upgrade all SAS clients on your pc, from what I can tell you have no option to change. So EG4.3 will also be updated, and so will other clients like DIS, SMC, IMS etc if they already exist on your PC Barry ... View more

I would also be interested in the answer to this, My uneducated view is below. The numbering is product specific so, I think you could get away with not upgrading EG, but not sure why you wouldn't want to upgrade it. I would expect though, if you are not running SAS9.2M3 on your server you would also have to update you server as well... There is an option on the Data Exploration... Have a look under View-> Preferences... I would also say you should re-consider using Data Explorations as they are been phased out in the 4.3 clients, ie OLAP Viewer ceases to exist. So I have been told by our local SAS office. Barry ... View more
