Review the product documentation. There are topics that specifically deal with how you should be calling your DMP jobs if you are not running them interactively.   Regardless, check a few things: Make sure that each call by your scheduler to run the job didn't spawn a new process that is taking up system resources If your job is accessing data, make sure that your queries are running as you would expect. You can turn on more verbose levels of logging to see database interaction or you can monitor that in your database log. There are logging options you can set that will generate what are called node profile metrics. These logs will tell you how long each node is processing rather than the sum for the entire job. Hi - some answers:   - Is it necessary to install a new (12c or earlier) Orcale Client or a new Oracle ODBC Driver on this server?    If you don't use the Wire Protocol driver, yes you need a client. What you install will depend on what Oracle server version you are running. - Which procedures we may use to do this?   You'll need to use standard Oracle apps/components to do this. Usually Oracle clients are available for download from their site or can be found in your Oracle deployment. - How to configure the new ODBC connections with this driver? Which parameters to use?   There's nothing special you have to do beyond normal steps to create that ODBC connection in the Linux driver manager. There is some documentation on this in the SAS/DataFlux user guide. - Is it necessary to create listener entries on Oracle?   It depends on your configuration but usually you do need to do this. Hi - are you calling the dmpexec command from your scheduler? There are various options you can set when invoking the command that may impact performance, like choosing to write a log or selecting options that overwrite configuration file settings. There are also options for logging that might help you pinpoint the issue.   Another thought - I have seen in the past where dmpexec was executed by a user (different than the one used with Data Management Studio) that had different environment settings associated with it (like where the "temp" directory was located) and this impacted performance.  Ron ... Hi Andric,   For your first question, assuming you are using SAS Data Preparation in SAS Viya (based on a comment later in the post), have you tried using the "Other" delimiter option? From the documentation:   "If you choose Other in the Delimiter drop-down menu, enter the delimiters that you want to use in the text box. There is no limit to the number of delimiters that you can enter in this field. If you enter multiple delimiters, then the split occurs on a cell-by-cell basis according to the delimiters that you indicated, and in the order in which they appear in the Other text box." It may not be flexible enough to meet your needs though.   If you have access to the data quality transforms, there are parsing and field extraction transformations too, but they require you to develop some specialized data quality algorithms using a separate knowledge base editing tool.   Ron ... Hi Sandeep,   You can use a Branch node followed by two Data Validation nodes. In one Data Validation node, write an expression where FLAG=0 and in the other, an expression where FLAG=1. You'll end up with two branches in your job.   I'm not sure follow your second question but I'll try to answer. You can use an Expression node to create new variables (synonym for field or column) in your data flows. If you need to have logic that scans clusters to populate values in your new field, look at the Grouping tab of the Expression node. Here you can initialize variables each time your code hits a new cluster. So you can use this technique to do counts or set flags.
