That is awesome! Good job!
Just emailed my account manager about getting this installed ...
Good news !
Just an additional question : what is the shipped plan for Windows platform ?
Gaetan
Hi @Gaetan
We are in the planning stages. If I had to guess, I would say the product will likely support Windows sometime first half of 2020. As a product manager, I must say, "This is a guess and not a promise."
Best wishes,
Jeff
Does it also support the BigQuery Storage API to read data from BigQuery? My experience (using SAS/ACCESS to ODBC and the newest Simba ODBC driver for BigQuery) is that only with Storage API support you can read large datasets from BigQuery with a reasonable performance.
Hi,
I confirm that setting in JDBC connexion options :
- EnableHighThroughputAPI=1
enhance performances.
With ODBC, performance are poor reading large datasets
Gaetan
Hi @Gaetan ,
did you try the latest Simba ODBC driver (version 2.2.1.1006) ? With the option "EnableHTAPI=1" the performance is quite good.
For me SAS/ACCESS to BigQuery is only interesting if it can also use the Storage API.
Lorenz
Hi @Lorenz I did not yet use this driver version.
Indeed, following this link https://cloud.google.com/bigquery/providers/simba-drivers/ :
GCP do not propose similar driver version according to language interface !!
- In english language --> 2.2.1.1006
- In french language --> 2.1.23.1031
I test this new version as soon as possible
Thank you !
We currently use Simba driver to connect to Big Query in 9.4M4 . Is there a paper or demo for what this post refers to?
Does this address any issues with BQ and SAS CI?
