Modernising SAS Legacy Applications
In this session we begin by sharing our approach for the modernisation of legacy AF/SCL desktop applications. Much of the material is also relevant for the upgrade of SAS/IntrNet applications. In the second half we will take an example of a traditional Stored Process application (using PUT statements to drive HTML) and demonstrate how this could be served instead as a modern Web Application using SAS for authentication, authorisation, and data handling. We'll finish with a run-down of how such a project can be entirely driven from a GIT repository, including documentation, tests, and automatic deployment to any flavour of SAS - be that Foundation, EBI, or Viya. |
