Introduction
Examples of SAS Viya REST API usage to overcome challenges in a 9.4-to-Viya migration project
- When migrating an existing application/solution based on SAS 9.4 to SAS Viya, one may benefit from learning to interact with the SAS Viya REST APIs in order to programmatically (via SAS code) achieve things such as:
- (Re-)building scheduler flows in SAS Viya’s “Jobs and flows” scheduling facility.
- Extracting logs from scheduled jobs to physical files.
- Extracting code from deployed jobs to physical files.
- Lars has been part of a migration project in which the abovementioned things were needed.
- Lars will present the rationale for each of the cases and show examples of how SAS code calling the Viya APIs helped the project deliver.
- And also quickly cover the available API documentation and how one goes about figuring out more.
