SAS Bowl XXVII, CAS Actions -- Game Recap

We kicked off the new year with a riveting SAS Bowl event as it came down to the last question. We even had our first ever tie for third place. Participants entertained questions on CAS Actions and we learned a lot about how to invoke them in SAS Viya to do all the 'statisticy' (new word coined by host @joeFurbee) things users need. Read on for the game replay and some highlights.

Game Highlights

  • We discovered Renaldo is more popular on Twitter (535M followers) than the host (336 followers).
  • We learned that dragon flies are the only insect with the ability to fly forwards, backwards, and sideways.
  • @TomKari worked through his technical issues and was able to access the Teams call; nice to see you Tom!
  • We had one user who answered almost every question in the chat; doh!; needless to say they did not have a high score.

Congratulations to the winners

1st place @Bruehl

2nd place @ronan

3rd place - @JulianVogel

Your swag is on its way.

Next up

On Wednesday, February 15, at 10 AM ET, we'll host SAS Bowl XXVIII, SAS Studio Custom Steps. Easy to create, integrate, and use, custom steps enable you to create a user interface in SAS Studio on SAS Viya for users to complete a specific task. Custom steps are saved to SAS Content, so they can be shared with others at your site. Be sure to check the SAS Communities Events Calendar  for all the details.
