About
Since completing a Master's Course at the Department of Operational Research (now the Department of Management Science) at the University of Lancaster in England in 1990, I have been a devoted Operational Researcher. With this educational background, I have gained experience in various areas of the Financial Services sector, including Treasury, Capital Markets, Planning and Control, and Risk Management. Throughout my career, I have worked both in operational roles within organizations and as a consultant.
The common thread running through my work has been a focus on providing quantitative decision support, particularly through the use of modeling (which is why I have a strong affinity for SAS) and fostering the growth and development of individuals.
Currently I am working as Team Lead Treasury & Portfolio Management for EY ifb in Germany. In this role, my main areas of focus are SAS Risk Solutions and Scenario Planning. Additionally, I assist and mentor colleagues, both new and experienced, in their learning journeys with SAS. I genuinely appreciate the comprehensive SAS learning system. I am also an active member of the SAS Analytics Explorers Community.

Asking for help:
I have a csv-file with 14 variable names in the first line, and the set of values for variables in the next few lines (green).
In SAS on Demand for Academcis I am aiming for a sas table with each value set in one line.
proc import datafile='/home/u59608141/1_Skills/occupations_en.csv'
out=WORK.OCCUPATIONS dbms=CSV replace;
delimiter=',';
run;
but I get only 8 variables and some of the variables distributed over several lines:
How can I change my import to get all 14 Columns and each value into one cell?

Hi @visvar90,
I took the A00-232 (SAS Certified Professional: Advanced Programming Using SAS® 9.4) two months ago. In our company this certifications is regarded as an important credential for the SAS consultants.
https://www.sas.com/de_de/certification/credentials/foundation-tools/advanced-programming-professional.html
is a good starting point for the support materials for the exam with many links. Have especially a look at the content guide!
If you are working for a SAS customer, you may qualify for the SAS Analytics Explorers Community, where you can get free courses for the exam. You can apply here: https://infl.tv/nkgi

@ChrisHemedinger: Hi Chris, Thanks for your reply. I am interested in the code generation logic, which generates the code. Not so much for me. But yesterday I gave an introduction to SAS for the new joiners in our company. And the question how the code is generated arose. I would like to give an answer to my rather technical oriented colleagues.
Best Regards

Hi, together. When I use the tasks in Enterprise Guide, Code is created. How does this work?
Who knows any articles about it?
Thanks, Markus

Hi @pavank,
the Article "How to sort data in SAS" by Andy Rav (https://communities.sas.com/t5/SAS-Communities-Library/How-to-sort-data-in-SAS/ta-p/676170) which also recommends Chris Hemedingers blog (https://blogs.sas.com/content/sasdummy/2016/02/04/avoid-sorting-data-in-sas/) should be a good starting point for our question.
Best Regards
