A custom step enables you to create a user interface in SAS Studio on SAS Viya for users to complete a specific task. Custom steps are saved to SAS Content, so they can be shared with others at your site. They are easy to create and very useful. We'll highlight SAS Studio custom steps in the February edition of the SAS Bowl.

The SAS Studio Flow “Custom Step” framework was released in SAS Viya 2020.1.5. After the advent of SAS Studio Flows, Custom Steps are a big step forward in providing visual and flexible data manipulation/integration jobs with shared reusable components in the new SAS Viya.
