If you are working in a disconnected environment, you might have setup an image registry outside of OpenShift using third party vendors like Artifactory or Harbor etc., or using QUAY, if you have the sub to install the OpenShift platform itself. It's better to mirror Viya 4 images to these registries instead of the internal image registry that is enabled by default on the OpenShift platform.
For application deployments with few images I think using the internal image registry is fine, but for SAS platform itself hosting it externally would make better sense. Also, I am not sure if VmWare storage supports RWX which is required for OpenShift internal image registry to function in HA mode.
