Hi Chris, My mistake, the field to be changed is a Date/Time field & I want to use the feature I described above. I'm making a mistake in the steps somewhere. Here are some instructions I was using & adapting to a Date/ Time situation. From this page; http://support.sas.com/kb/26/012.html Right-click on the column to be converted and select Properties. Change the type to Numeric and click Yes in the warning prompt regarding precision. Change the Group to Date. Click Informats; the selected value under Categories should be Date. Change the informat to ANYDTDTEw. Under Attributes, assign an overall width of 10. Click Formats; the selected value under Categories should be Date. Change the format to MMDDYYw.d. Under Attributes, assign an overall width of 10. Click OK. If the conversion results are correct in the Preview Results window, click Commit changes. I used the ANYDTTME format for the Informat but it still won't work... Any suggests?

Hi, I'm trying to change the format of a date/time field. I'm going into the table, double clicking on a Cell which prompts me to accept editing access. I then right click & go to Properties to change the Format of the field. I saw a tutorial to do this to change a Char field to a Number but can't get this to work. The options given are Informat which I chnage to 'MONYY' & I do the same to the Format option. The fields turn into this '******' . Can anyone advise what I'm doing wrong? Thanks

I worked out the error for the 'Report Font for Clients' I went into the Folders for the app & ran the uninstall file in the 'Report Font for Clients' folder. Now I hope the other problem doesn't happen ...

Thanks Vish & Chris, I've run into another problem after deleting some old files. This is causing issues before I get to the problem I stated in this post. When running the 'Report Fonts for Clients', I'm getting the error; The install failed to initialise for: Report fonts for Clients. The install says it is trying to update the 'Report fonts for Clients' but if I've deleted it, how do I reinstate it? Thanks

Hi Forum, I'm getting the below error when I try to save my projects. I recently changed my directory but can't see why this would cause the problem. The only thing I did was to unhide some files that weren't visible beforehand. I can manually access the folders where the SAS Projects are kept & I have Admin level access. What can be causing this? Thanks Reeza, I just want a good solid reference book for things when I get stuck. I did a Basic SAS EG course a while ago & SAS supplied a hardcopy ref file for the subjects we studied. Oh well...

Thanks Michelle, Yes they are but they don't go far enough to illustrate such things as where the Fields go in the Dialogue boxes for the various Tasks. That's the sort of thing I'm after.

Hi, I'm using theQuery builder in SAS Enterprise Guide 4.3 & have a date field in my data in the 'DDMONYYYY' format which I want to change to 'MONYY' format. When I use the Query builder & change the format to 'DTMONYY.w', the results for all rows is 'JAN60'? Can anyone advise what's happening here? Thanks

Hi Reeza, To explain further, I have 5 products, each product has a sales amount per month for one year. I want to see five lines at various levels depending on their value against the vertical axis with the Mth_Yr on the horizontal axis. I've used the wizard with only one Product & got this confusing looking graph with vertical lines instead of the one wavy line I was expecting. Can you or anyone advise why this is happening? see attched image. Thanks

That's correct Reeza, Months along the bottom & The Sales on the Vertical & the Product numbers make the lines. I need to know what to put in the Vertical, Group (Limit 1 field) & then Group Charts By. Thanks
