Hi Forum, I've got some data that I'm trying to create a Multiple Line graph for. I have Mon_Yr, Sales_Amount & Products, so I want to show all the 5 Products Monthly Sales totals for a year So, using the Multiple Line Plot Wizard in SAS EG 4.3, I put the Mon_Yr in the Horizontal Axis, & I can't get the graph to complete as I'm not sure what to use for the Vertical Axis? Putting the Sales in the Vertical doesn't make a sensible graph. I thought of creating a Range of sales banding s $0-$2000, $2001-$4000 etc etc but I can't enter this into the Vertical axis as it will only accept a Numeric data type. Does anyone have a step by step guide/video to create a Multiple line graph? It shouldn't be this hard... Thanks

Hi Forum, I have a table of data that contains a Column of telephone numbers. I want to filter out any records where the telephone number field has a number beginning with '04'. So far I've added an Advanced Expression something like the below in SAS EG 4.3. SUBSTR(TELEPHONE_NO, 1, 2) <> '04' This doesn't work & changes all telephone nunmbers to a single digit, 0, 1 2 etc. I'd prefer to add afilter in a Query Builder but there isn't an option to write the above expression... Can anyone advise how this can be done? Thanks

Hi ballardw, Thanks for the response but I don't know what you mean? Could you explain it in terms of using a Query builder with 2 tables, one table 'Table1' with the field 'Mon_Yr' as an Integer datatype & another table 'Table2' with the field 'Mon_Yr' as a Varchar datatype? Thanks

Hi Forum, I'm using SAS Enterprise Guide 4.3 with Windows 7 in case it's useful. I have 2 tables, with a Month_Id written as '201310' to denote October 2013 for example. Problem is, I have one table with this Column created as an Integer & another as a Varchar. What is the best way to change one of them to the others datatype so I can join them? Thanks

Hi, I want to apply a Filter for a date field where the Results should be all data with an End_Date Greater than today. I've tried adding DATE & DATE() but it's not being accepted. What is the correct syntax for the query builder? Thanks

OK, The length of the field is 8, the Type is Number & the Source Informat / Output Format / Output Informat are all PERCENT6. Could the PERCENT6 be the problem?

Hi, I'm using SAS EG 4.3 with Windows 7 & am trying to perform a calculation of a % of a Currency amount. Example, I have 2 Fileds on a table, Sales (Currency) & Allocation (%) - NOTE the datatypes appear as shown ie; $ & %. I go to Query Builder >> Add the 2 Fields to the Builder >> go to Add Computed Column >> Select Advanced Expression & enter; t1.Sales*Allocation. The figures for this example are Currency is $180.00 & the Percentage is 22%. The result for 22% of $180.00 should be $39.60 but I am getting $38.74 ?? I then reloaded my % Field as a Number datatype & tried the below; t1.Sales*(Allocation/100) same result ... My goal is to apply the % Allocation figure against the sales figure to get the % of the Sales in this new Column. Any help appreciated.
