Bulk / batch loading of users in SAS metadata

Hello All I was trying to add users in bulk to the SAS metdata server. I have followed this  https://documentation.sas.com/?docsetId=bisecag&docsetTarget=n1066twnn593yhn1c24upayu4bvv.htm&docsetVersion=9.4&locale=en In the case that users, groups and AD's are new it works flawlessly. Thanks. I agree SAS Foundation is not ble to load modules. 1.When we try to restart Metadata server does not start and no log files are generated. 2.Older logs do not show any error. ... View more

We have recently updated SAS on windows to SAS9.4 M6 we are facing an issue of restarting SASMetadata Server. Apparently the config files are Ok. Same as on other machines. WHile diagnosing the isse, when I try to run the base sas on the server The following error is displayed. Hello VM ware snapshot saves the entire status of the machine. A few years back (2014 to be precise) , for implementing a change, I had backed up my metadata servers using a VMware snapshot and recovered it later without issues. I had made sure that users had closed their sessions before taking the backup. Experiences may vary depending upon the detail. The point is, there are scenarious where it will be useful. Error trying to connect to OLAP server in SAS EG

SOme of the SAS users have issues connecting to OLAP server while others can.(There are no OLAP cubes.). The server is 9.4M6 and client in EG7.13. We are running SAS9.4M4 on Windows 2008 R2. I often see a process iproxy running. The executable is located in $SASHOME\core\sasext\iproxy.exe. Takes a lot of memory and has high cpu time.(In cetain case 70%+ for example with proc npar1way wilcoxon) The jobs are run through SAS Enterprise guide. What is it and what purpose it serve? SAS Enterprise guide has git built into it an one could do source code management in the EG Project. In SAS EG 8.1 I don't see it. (OR may be I missed it?) I could not find this in the documentaion on SAS EG 8.1 . I do find reference for the use of built in functions (https://blogs.sas.com/content/sasdummy/2019/01/17/git-in-sas/). I see these are not a substitute for what was there in SAS Eg 7.1. Can Experts/ Power users kindly enlighten ?. ... View more
