Hi,   this error message can indicate a permission problem on the OS side!   Also, you could ask your IT folks to check whether the lock for a running service has been removed or is still showing as locked. If it does, the lock file has to be manually removed. Some background: When the service is started, a lock file is created. This lock file is automatically deleted whenever the service stops. If for whatever reason this lock file did not get deleted, the error message you are seeing would occur.   Thanks Anja ... View more

Hi,   You can connect to Hadoop via ODBC / SAS libname, the difference between ODBC and SAS/Access to Hadoop is that the latter uses the Hadoop engine, whereas ODBC uses the ODBC engine.   If you have ODBC DSN configured on your pc, you could do a Libname hdp odbc prompt; and then select the DSN you set up.   Hope that helps.   Thanks Anja ... Hi,   has this ever worked? Is it a new environment?   Things to check are if license expired, ports have been changed and are not available for Grid anymore, changes in config files? Also, do you have admin permissions to actually see the Nodes, or, are you logged on as user?   Do you receive any error messages or warnings?   My recommendation is to address this with SAS Tech Support. Hi tommy81,   SAS does not provide the Hadoop JAR files; those need to be acquired from your Hadoop administrator. However, with SAS 9.4 M3, the SAS Deployment Manager tries to gather the JAR files and configuration files from the Hadoop environment. Note:  if the JAR files and config files are not in the default directories, SAS won't find them and it could cause problems.   If you do acquire the right JARs and config files, you'd have to make sure these files are set correctly too: SAS_HADOOP_CONFIG_PATH SAS_HADOOP_JAR_PATH   They have to be placed in a directory that your SAS clients/users machines' have access to.   Hope that helps?   Anja ... Hi,   has a new license been installed recently, or, any maintenance releases/hot fixes implemented? Any software changes on the other persons' desktop lately?   A 203 error message usually indicates either a file system issue, or, a java issue. Tech Sup can help you to further troubleshoot   Alternatively, SASMC could be re-installed on the 2 machines.   This is a long shot, but pls try the following: Go to C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASManagementConsole\9.4 and take a look at the sasmc.ini file, lines JavaArgs_1=-Xmx1024m (this is my modified custom setting). JavaArgs_2=-XX:MaxPermSize=128m   Compare your settings with the SASMC settings on the other admins' pcs.   OR, are you using SASMC differently and it is not locall installed on the individual pcs?   Thanks Anja ... So you will have 2 metadata servers?   If so, do both developers have metadata identities in both environments? I am asking these questions because I am wondering if seting up a SAS Folder and assigning groups with certain permissions might help the situation.   The problem is not really the pre-assignment but the fact that 2 people need to access the same table at the same time. Hi,   are you importing the data into foundation or any custom repositories?   Sometimes, when custom repositories were used, and exported from there, and then imported into the Foundation repository, the GUID that is specific to each transformation causes the import / the transformation to fail as it detects the same key as already exitent.   Is the export being done from within SASMC Folders, or within DI?   Did you check the Metadata Server log and Object Spawner log to see if there are any errors or warnings?   Thanks Anja ...
