Any 'cell' in database NOT CONTAINING a %... change to missing

Database (Imported from Excel) contains 'cells' containing a % sign, and cells with no % sign.   Would like to go through entire database, and if NO %, simply DELETE whatever is presently there in the cell.  Result, empty cell.   If there IS a % somewhere in the cell (generally at end, such as +2.07%), leave that cell alone.   Another alternative approach would be to KEEP ONLY those 'cells' where there exists the symbol %.  All other cells should be deleted.  Even better, use RegEx, and insist the % be at the end of the line, such as +2.07%.   Suggestions greatly appreciated.   Thanks! Using Proc SGPannel.  Please see following code:   proc sgpanel data=sas_1.importance_long_many_variables; panelby Indicator / rows=4 layout=rowlattice noheader spacing=11 ; histogram Count / datalabel=count datalabelattrs=(color=navy family=arial size=8) ; inset Indicator / position=right textattrs=(size=14) ; rowaxis offsetmin=0 ; run;   Would like to overlay the histogram with three vertical lines: Quartile 1 Mean Quartile 3   The purpose is to compare various histograms (using same scale).   The above possibility does not appear in the documentation for sgpannel, histogram.   Any thoughts appreciated.   Thanks! What do you folks avoid running (in Windows, 64-bit, 32 gig RAM) while running SAS?   In other words, while running a SAS job, if you do something else at the same time, you will likely get incorrect answers in SAS, or failure of some kind.   Possible examples:   Check your email? Curious only....     Many (most?) SAS executions (programs of users) happen lickety-split.  Maybe, what, ten minutes at most, or so. Do some folks have programs that run a long time?   So, what I'm actually wondering is, suppose a distribution plot of total time taken to run, a histogram, what is some of the stuff done over in the right tail?   (And, as a follow-up, how many person-hours would that be equivalent to in pre-SAS days?)   Any thoughts appreciated.   Nicholas Kormanik   ... Curious if it's good practice to give some command for SAS to recover (reset, stabilize, recoup) following an involved proc statement.   In other words, suppose some proc statement execution takes 10 minutes to complete.   Before issuing another proc statement (via batch set of commands) is there a way to tell SAS to take a break -- relax, regain all your memory parts, clean up your temp files, recover -- prior to moving on to the next proc statement.   If so, what is that "take-a-break" command?   Any thoughts appreciated.   Thanks, Nicholas Kormanik   ... Managed to get Frequency to format with NO decimal places.  By using list, as opposed to crosslist.   Still can't get Percent to a single decimal digit.  No way no how.   Ought to be easier....   ... View more

Please see the output image below:     For some reason in the Frequency column I am getting lines with decimal point and number.  xxxxx.4 for instance.   The following is the code used to generate what's shown above:   proc freq data=sas_3.variable_values_separate_runs nlevels order=freq page; where Indicator = "i_21504a"; tables indicator * range / nocum nocol norow sparse crosslist missprint format=15.0; weight number_weighted_yes / zeros; run; Can anyone think of a way to avoid those decimal places in the Frequencies column?   Additionally, can anyone suggest a way of showing ONLY ONE decimal place in the Percent column?   Any help greatly appreciated.   Nicholas Kormanik         ... I'm working with Proc Freq, but this question can extend beyond that.   How best to subset the data for the analysis one wants to do?   For instance, say there is a column of data called "Quality", and it extends from 0 to 10.  And I would like to only focus on the rows of data with Quality >= 8.0.   So in Proc Freq, ONLY focus on that subset of data.   How best to do this?   Thanks, Nicholas Kormanik     ... Both are categorical variables, yes.  I haven't yet tried using Range in Proc Freq, thinking that it's so untypical, weird.  That there is probably some other way of handling it.   ... View more
