Hi Kathy, Since it happened after re-starting your server, it sounds like some sort of configuration issue. However, I suggest continuing to work with SAS Tech Support on this one. Providing the full SAS log and EG log should help them debug (they can provide instructions for retrieving). Casey

It sounds like you and your co-worker are using different EG 7.x versions. ActionOnError refers to a feature that was added in EG 7.13, so I suspect you are using EG 7.13 or later and your co-worker is using 7.12, 7.11, or 7.1. It should be ok to ignore the error. However, if you regularly share projects, it is a good idea to be running the same version of EG. So, I suggest checking your EG versions (in Help->About) and upgrade whichever is behind, so you are both running the same version. Casey

Hi @gusfryk01, No, there is not currently a solution for always showing the last produced data set by default (when multiple data sets are created by a program). You can accomplish it though by naming the data set you wish to appear such that it is the last one alphabetically. Setting the "Maximum number of output data sets to add to the project" option to 0 prevents EG from opening any output data sets, thus avoiding unintentionally opening potentially large (time-consuming) data sets. Chris is correct. EG 8.1 will still support the existing task architecture. We also have plans to support developing tasks using the SAS Studio model, but that will likely be added in a later release.

I am able to reproduce the problem. This does appear to be a bug in the Transpose task. Unlike the Name and Column Prefix fields, the Label field is not serializing the value if you don't change it (leave as the default value). Therefore, if you then run the project in EG using a different language, the default value in the Label field will be translated in the new current language, resulting in a different named column in the output data set, which can throw-off downstream processing. I'll enter it into our tracking system. To workaround, the user can specify a value for the Label field that is not the default. It will then be serialized and re-used in EG regardless of the language EG is running in. UPDATE: A fix for this issue has been pushed and will be available in the first EG 7.15 update (HF1) next month. Casey

I am able to reproduce the problem in both EG 7.12 HF9 and EG 7.15. As you mentioned, I do think it is related to having the same source table in both process flows. I'll enter it into our tracking system, so we can hopefully address in a future release. In the meantime, I was able to workaround by selecting only the program node (ex. "Code For sdf") and moving it by itself or by copy/pasting just the program to the desired process flow. Sorry for the inconvenience. Casey

Hi Sowmya, We don't know exactly what the user experience will be yet, but yes, we are planning on making it easier to get the file size (and any other properties that you can find in the server's dictionary tables) from within the EG UI in a future release. Casey

Hi Peter, I like your suggestion. I can certainly see how it would be useful. Since we probably wouldn't be successful at hard-coding everything all users would be interested in, I was thinking we might even be able to take it a step further and provide full flexibility by allowing users to define one or more custom searches. For example: The existing Errors, Warnings, and Notes toggle buttons would be built-in (always present), but then there could be a '+' icon to the right of those that when clicked would add a new custom toggle button to the end for which you would define a label and a search criteria (ex. regular expression). The custom search would behave the same as the built-in ones for Errors, Warnings, and Notes, but would return log lines that match the user-specified search criteria instead. You could click the '+' icon again to define additional custom searches/toggle buttons. Would that sufficiently meet your needs? (It would require you to define your desired custom searches. Although, perhaps we could have some presets (like the ones you mentioned above) to choose from when defining a new custom search.) Thanks for the feedback! Casey

If you have both SAS versions installed locally, you can switch between which one will be active in EG by registering the desired version with the regserver option. For example: C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.4\sas.exe /regserver Or C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.2\sas.exe /regserver Casey

While you can run process flows asynchronously (at the same time) manually in the UI (multi-select all the process flows you want to run in the Project Tree, right-click and select Run), the EG scripting interface currently only supports running synchronously. (Note: If the runnable items in your process flows are assigned to run on the same server, they will run synchronously by default. If you want to spawn additional sessions on the same server to run items in parallel, you can turn on the File->Project Properties->Code Submission->"Allow parallel execution on the same server" option.) Just wanted to follow-up and let you know that a fix for this issue (the over-scaling of the program editor (and data grid)) has been addressed in the first update (HF1) to EG 7.15, which will be released before the end of this year. This one (the unsightly scaling of the editor and data grid in DPI settings higher than 100%) bothered me enough that I took a closer look this afternoon. I made better progress debugging than I expected and found a promising fix that we could probably provide before the next full release. There is a little more work to do, but I'm reasonably optimistic we can have this addressed in the first 7.15 update (7.15 HF1), which will likely be released mid to late December (next month). I'll post back later with confirmation one way or the other. UPDATE: I pushed the fix today, confirming that it will be addressed in EG 7.15 HF1, available next month. Note: The fix addresses the main issue... the over-scaling of the editor (text and scrollbars too large) and the data grid (scrollbars too large). It does not address the issue with the data grid row height not adjusting to the larger font size (thus tops or bottoms of some values might be clipped in higher resolutions and DPI) -- a separate issue we'll investigate as well. For now, it can be worked around by zooming (ex. Ctrl+MouseWheel). Casey

Hi @asimraja, "The server is disconnected" actually indicates that the server session was disconnected, which will happen if a large enough log is generated, such that the server session runs out of memory. Proc printto is the suggested workaround. Note: SAS 9.4M5 added log-streaming capability (can be turned on via internal "options iomlogautoflush;"), which will stream the log events back to the client as they occur, thus avoiding the buffering of the log events on the server leading to the out of memory condition.
