Hello Team,
We are unable to install SAS Viya application from Azure Marketplace.
Receive the error: {'code':'DeploymentFailed','message':'At least one resource deployment operation failed. Please list deployment operations for details. Please see https://aka.ms/DeployOperations for usage details.','details':[{'code':'ApplianceDeploymentFailed','message':'The operation to create appliance failed. Please check operations of deployment 'sasviyatest' under resource group '/subscriptions/7a99bd73-dfd8-4937-abfa-020ed4632e9f/resourceGroups/mrg-sas-viya-on-azure-20221214113533'. Error message: 'At least one resource deployment operation failed. Please list deployment operations for details. Please see https://aka.ms/DeployOperations for usage details.''}]}.
We have checked the quota limits and region as per documentation and all is fine but we still unable to install the application.
Please assist.
Thanks,
Thimmaiah
Hi @Thimmaiah, thanks for using SAS Communities.
Could you please check if you can reach the Activity log and see if there are error messages on any operation?
To check that, you can follow these steps:
Got to Home > click on “Resource groups” > select your Resource group > click on “Deployments”, within “Settings”, in the vertical menu shown on the left:
you should see your deployment listed > click on the column “Related events” for your deployment (the last column on the right):
You will reach the Activity log. You will see a list of Operation names > expand all of them even if they have a “Succeeded” status > scroll and check if there is any FAILED entry.
If you find failed operations, click on them, capture a screen-shot, also click on the JSON tab and scroll to find the error message. Share that message too. Thanks.
HI,
We tried deploying the service multiple times during the month of December and it Failed every time.
We assumed that since the deployment failed ,there will be no charges but we did notice that the dependencies created during the deployment resulted in some charges and hence we deleted all the resources as we did not want further charges..
We have attached the error message found from the Activity Log.
Thanks,
Thimmaiah
What region are you deploying to?
Azure only supports regions with availability zones for SAS Viya. Please check the list of regions with availability zone support:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/reliability/availability-zones-service-support#azure-regions...
Hi, thank you for the response.
We are trying to deploy it in UAE north region and as per the link you shared the region is supported.
Thanks
It appears to be getting hung up on the creation of a runbook resource. This could either be a temporary service availability issue in the region that you are deploying to or a permissions issue on your subscription. Are you able to create an 'Automation Account' with a runbook outside of the Viya deployment?
Quickstart: Create an Automation account using the Azure portal
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/automation/quickstarts/create-azure-automation-account-porta...
Hi,
I am the Global administrator for the account so i do have all the access and permissions.
I was able to create a Automation account successfully as well.
Thanks,
Thimmaiah
I was not able to replicate your issue. I completed a deployment in UAE North yesterday evening without error. Have you tried a new deployment to test if this was an intermittent Azure issue?
Hello,
We were finally able to install the SAS Viya application successfully,
We are now able to see the deployment in Azure portal however we are not sure of the username and password to login
1.Could you please let us know the Admin account and password. Could you please guide us how to find them?
2. Please do let us know how to grant access to the Sas url/portal to other users.
3. Is this the correct URL to access the portal: mysasviya.uaenorth.cloudapp.azure.com
Thanks,
Thimmaiah
This documentation should help you to answer your questions:
