I believe this is specifically a limitation of aggregated measures that use a periodic (time) calculation. You cannot rank on a year to date calculation, but you can rank on aggregations that don't involve time, such as percent of total.

 

The documentation says,

 


SAS wrote:

Note: You cannot use aggregated measures with periodic operators in filters. You also cannot use calculated data items that reference periodic aggregated measures in filters.

 


I believe that this note should say "filters or ranks" instead of just filters.
