The "sweep data" option  you refer to in SAS Visual Analytics Explorer is for data brushing. I wasn't able to find a description of it in the SAS Visual Analytics User Guide for Explorer however the technique of brushing is available in SAS Visual Analytics Designer and described here - http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/vaug/68648/HTML/default/viewer.htm#p0m24xjvhsz9b4n1jgl7o...

Essentially it allows you to examine the data across multiple visualizations to get a better insight/correlation.

Interactions allow you to filter the data based on the interaction flow. Here is a description of interactions from the SAS Visual Analytics User Guide on the Designer tool which works in a similar way to Explorer:

Overview: http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/vaug/68648/HTML/default/viewer.htm#p0u8dqtc6207iln1bfl0l...

Creating: http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/vaug/68648/HTML/default/viewer.htm#p1bki2z2jxzsoen15hug3...

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Michelle

Interaction :

It helps to direct a report viewer's attention to specific results in a report. In simple words if you want a selction from a graph to effect the result in the other. Interactions are used.

There are two types of Interation:                                   Filter             &               Brush.

Filter is used to restrict data that is displayed in a report object. (ie. subsetting data).

Brush is to highlight the same data that is selected in multiple objects.

You may also want to go through Links to go a step further.

Let me know if you need more explanation.

-Hope it helps.

Thanks for your help ankit_gupta

I am not sure if we are speaking of the same thing.

I know the interaction between filters in a report designer, but I am asking about interaction between fields/vars not objects/sections.

in menu -> data  I can select to vars of the table an create 'interaction effecr's, I am interested in this one....¿what is the funcionality?

I am also interested in the funcinality selection/sweep data (barrido de datos in spanish)

Thanks in advance

Thanks Michelle however it seems hit or miss relative to the precision of the 'filter' from the Crosstab to the List table. I have 2000 units in my graph and when the interaction is set to filter to a list table (so I can see each unit at a granular level), it shows a different unit count.
