The upcoming SAS Viya Release Show is paying homage to our Users!!! 

In May, we are going to have a "User's Choice" segment with a topic that our User Group leaders want to learn more about or get their hands on. What is a presentation you or your members are dying to learn more about??

I thought the last Viya Release Show was excellent.  Happened to catch it Live on LinkedIn.  Really engaging and informative.

As BASUG's membership is heavily SAS language programmers, I think there would be interest in seeing an example which showed a SAS 9.4 code example doing something familiar (maybe reading data from a CSV, running some descriptive statistics, and making a plot, running a regression) and then showing how the code would need to be adapted to run on Viya.  Maybe two versions on Viya: 1) Running on SPRE (where I assume there would be few changes to the code needed) 2) code written in CASL.

So basically "You're a SAS programmer, you know how to do this common thing in 9.4.  Now lets show you how you can program it on Viya."  Emphasis being on programming, not point-and-click.

I agree with Quentin- I think most of the MSUG membership is still using SAS 9.4 instead of Viya, so the comparison would be very helpful. It's also not clear, at least from the viewpoint of someone to whom a "large" dataset is something over 10K records, what the benefits of moving to Viya would be.

Thanks @kateulveling !!! I thought today's SAS Viya Release show was Excellent!  Great to see both Viya and SAS Analytics Pro in action.  Really glad they highlighted PROC PYTHON.  Very cool.
