dear all,

using INTNX('dtmonth' , var1 , 0 , 'e' )

gives me the last day of the month of var1 ==> 31JAN2020:23:59:59

however I want 31JAN2020:00:00:00,

Of course I can subtract (24h*60m*60s) - 1:  intnx('dtmonth', var1 , 0 ,'e' ) - 86399

but is there a nicer way ??

H.

You could use INTNX() a second time.

intnx('dtday',INTNX('dtmonth' , var1 , 0 , 'e' ),0,'b')

You could switch to/from dates

dhms(INTNX('month' , datepart(var1) , 0 , 'e' ),0,0,0)

Here is one way

data _null_;
    dt = dhms(intnx('month' , today() , 0 , 'e' ), 0, 0, 0);
    put dt= datetime20.;
run;
