Hi,

I would like to atomatically insert my username and password to WRDS system to have a remote access. \

Here is the code

%let wrds = wrds.wharton.upenn.edu 4016;options comamid = TCP remote=WRDS;
signon server nocscript user=george password=XXXXXXX!;

and I received output:

225 %let wrds = wrds.wharton.upenn.edu 4016;options comamid = TCP remote=WRDS;
226 signon server nocscript user=george password=XXXXXXX!;
ERROR: Unrecognized option, !.
ERROR: Remote signon canceled.

It seems that it does not recognze the last character '!' . Please help me to overcome this error

Many thanks in advance

George

Try with setting new password:

https://support.sas.com/kb/60/312.html

Another option, maybe it is wrong port:

https://support.sas.com/kb/60/310.html

Third option, maybe setup:

https://communities.sas.com/t5/General-SAS-Programming/SAS-Connect-Issue/m-p/168401#M12038

I hope this helps.

%let wrds = wrds.wharton.upenn.edu 4016;options comamid = TCP remote=WRDS;

signon server nocscript user=george password="&macroVariableWithPassword.";

Try with adding double quotes around pass.

Hi Bart,

Many thanks but This does not work,

%let psw=XXXXXX!
317 %let wrds = wrds.wharton.upenn.edu 4016;options comamid = TCP remote=WRDS;
318 signon server nocscript user=george password="&psw";
NOTE: Remote signon to SERVER commencing (SAS Release 9.04.01M2P072314).
ERROR: A communication subsystem partner link setup request failure has occurred.

Please any other suggestion. The problem is the specific character ! exclamation mark.

Many thanks in advance
