Hi All,

We are registering  tables in the metadata for third-party databases. When we update the metadata again with a different user the last modified time is getting updated, the last modified by option for these tables which shows up in the DI is not getting updated. Is this the default behavior? Could you please comment.

This blog post provides some insights and it also links to some documentation on this topic https://blogs.sas.com/content/sgf/2013/12/25/sas-metadata-and-third-party-databases-an-faq/

We are using SAS 9.4 M6 on RHEL machines.

When we are connecting to third-party database (snowflake through odbc engine) and trying to register the metadata table, we are able to register successfully. After few changes to snowflake table, when a different user updates the metadata the last modified time is getting updated, but the last modified by option for the tables is not getting updated. The last modified by column still shows the name of the person who has registered the table. The metadata logs are showing the correct name who had updated the table recently but why is this not getting updated in the SAS DI studio. Is this the default behaviour or there is something we should change at configuration level? Could you please comment.
