Is the SAS online practice exam that costs $55 just one practice exam or is it multiple?

Practice Exam is one exam.

Other details:

This practice exam tests the same knowledge and skills as the SAS Base Programming for SAS 9 certification exam. The format of the questions on both exams is identical, and all topics on the practice exam are proportionally weighted to match the Certification exam.

You should be aware of the following differences between this practice exam and the official Certification exam:

  • The practice exam contains 50 questions. The number of questions and the time limit for the SAS Base Programming for SAS 9 certification exam may change from time to time. Please refer to the SAS Global Certification Web site for the most current information.
  • The practice exam is delivered to you in one continuous HTML page. The Certification exam questions are delivered one per screen.
  • There is no timer in the practice exam. To best simulate the designed pace of the Certification exam, you should allow 85 minutes for the practice exam.

Successful performance on the practice exam does not guarantee successful performance on the Certification exam.

Hello,

I work with SAS Global Certification and I wanted to mention that we actually have two different practice exams for the BASE Programmer.  The one that Reeza mentions is one exam that you could take.  It is a slightly older exam and is in a different format from the format of our live exams offered through Pearson VUE.

We now also offer SAS Practice exams through Pearson VUE.  These exams offered on the Pearson VUE platform are our new standard and are designed to be as representative as possible to the actual exam in difficulty level, objectives covered, length and look and feel.  You get six hours to take the exam and you have the ability to pause the exam to finish it at your convenience.  You have 90 days to complete the practice exam from the date you purchase it.  In addition, you get a dynamic score report that provides you with feedback on the questions you miss and provides a rationale for the correct answer.  You can review all the questions.

Check it out at:   https://www.sas.com/en_us/certification/resources/sas-practice-exams.html

Follow the information under the heading " SAS Practice Exams available through Pearson VUE".

The cost is $55.00 USD.

Good luck with your studies.

Any insight into which Exam is preferable and/or more 'acknowledged' by prospective employers?

They both have similar content and have practice exams offered through Pearson VUE

A00-211 SAS Base Programming for SAS 9
A00-231 SAS Certified Specialist: Base Programming Using SAS 9.4 (AKA: 'Performance-based exam')

It appears the 'performance' based exam will entail actual programming, which seems like it might better demonstrate ones actual application of SAS knowledge ... But which to choose ?

many thanks for any insight or opinions

The programming test will be viewed more favorably, especially if you do it earlier.
