Hi all,

I bought "SAS® Certification Prep Guide: Base Programming forSAS® 9, Fourth Edition" a couple of months ago. My exam is scheduled in the mid November.

Today I've realized that there is a new fifth edition of this book. Fifth edition has 363 pages and fourth edition has 551 pages.

I assume that my exam in November will follow topics from new edition? Chapters from fourth edition which don't exist in fifth will not be included in exam?

Also, is there anything in fifth edition, but not covered in fourth edition?

Thank you.

The new 5th edition covers the current exam topics. The main difference is that reading arrays and raw data with INPUT/INFILE have been removed. No new content has been added.

Current exam topics are posted on our website: https://www.sas.com/en_us/certification/exam-content-guides/base-programming.html

@Mark2010 What is the difference between the 3rd Edition and the 4th Edition? I would really appreciate it!

Thanks for the post! I just realized I have spent more money on the newest book with less information.
