Hi all,

In the Tips and Strategies for A00-232 performance based exam advanced exam, it specifies: "If you get notes in your logs such as “The quoted string currently being processed has become more than 262 characters long”, you have arrived in “confused quote-land.” If this happens to you, you should save your programs, close your SAS application, then reopen it and edit your program."

What does "close your SAS application" mean here? I closed all the open programs. Then open a saved document, but the problem didn't disappear. Is there anybody who can help with the issue? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

It happens occasionally when I run my practice codes. But I usually solve the problem by reloading SAS studio. I am not sure if I can make it disappear by just close all the programs.

Hi,
"close your SAS application" means close (exit/quit) whichever SAS UI you are using. Since there are 3 possible SAS UIs available in the exam (Studio, EG, or Display Manager), we use the generic "SAS application."
