Thank you Nietsche for all the errata.  What about summing all that up in an article once you are through ... and publishing it in the knowledge base?

For now I think it is better leave in thread form since the errors I have found can not be exhaustive.

Maybe future readers will find more errors in the future and can post it on here to make the errata more comprehensive.

I wonder what is supposed to be indicated by the FIRST.bycol and LAST.bycol lines in the box below, from the right hand column of page 2.  They start with the FIRST. or LAST. components, followed by an optional "<expression>" and then a semi-colon.  This syntax suggests that one can create a valid SAS statement of that form.

The hash OUTPUT method will overwrite a SAS data set, but not append. That can be costly. Consider voting for Add a HASH object method which would append a hash object to an existing SAS data set

Would enabling PROC SORT to simultaneously output multiple datasets be useful? Then vote for
Allow PROC SORT to output multiple datasets
