Hi,

I am Planning to get my Certification for Clinical Trials Programmer.I have learned SAS through university edition .

Can anyone please guide me how to plan my studies? After going through the exam contents not sure where to get the material

related to Clinical trial. I can see preparation guides for BASE & ADVANCE SAS but can't see this type of prep guide for Clinical SAS.

Please suggest me  reference books, study material for Clinical trials understanding and to use SAS knowledge in clinical trials.

Thank you.

Hi:

Here is the detailed content guide for the Clinical Trials Programmer certification: https://www.sas.com/content/dam/SAS/en_us/doc/other1/certification/exam-content/clinical-trials.pdf -- there are actually 2 exams:

1) Clinical Trials Programmer https://www.sas.com/en_us/certification/credentials/foundation-tools/clinical-trials-programmer/clin...

2) Accelerated Clinical Trials Programmer exam (for those who already hold the Base Programmer certification) https://www.sas.com/en_us/certification/credentials/foundation-tools/clinical-trials-programmer/clin...

Although there are Prep Guides explicitly for the 2 basic exams (Base and Advanced), there is NOT a Prep Guide for the Clinical Trials Programmer exam.

Each of the above web sites shows exactly which classes and books will prepare you for each of the 2 Clinical Trials Programmer exams. The content on the exams is split into 2 parts: SAS content (comes from SAS classes) and domain/clinical trials content (comes from the books listed).

My suggestion is that you review the web site that is most applicable to you and then consider working on the books that are recommended for domain content. I believe that most of the books are available through the SAS bookstore and the CDISC books are available at cdisc.org site.

Wow, never heard of that one, but it is a thing.  The only resource I would imagine there being is SAS who give the certification:

https://www.sas.com/en_gb/certification/credentials/foundation-tools/clinical-trials-programmer.html

From this link only I got the link to  Certification Community from Additional Sources.

Thanks !

Sorry, I really don't understand your post.  Maybe look at the FAQs:

https://www.sas.com/en_gb/certification/faq.html

And then here:

https://www.sas.com/en_gb/certification/training-exam-preparation.html

Where there are videos and such like.

Thank You Cynthia , for your detailed explanation.

It gave me the clear idea about how to set my path towards Clinical SAS Certification.

I was looking for Prep Guide  for this Exam but, as you mentioned in your reply that there is no such prep Guide available for

this certification. Can we request SAS People to make it available in near future ?

Thanks for you support.

Hi:
It is unlikely that there will be a Prep Guide designed for this exam. The domain information comes from books that are already available in the SAS Bookstore and on the CDISC site. There would be no real benefit to replicating the book information that others have already written.

The SAS information comes from 5 classes and for 2 of the classes (Programming 1 and Programming 2) there is already the Base Programmer Certification Prep Guide. The remaining 3 classes are separate topics: Macro Language 1, Report Writing 1 and Statistics 1.

Thank you Cynthia for further clarification.

That make sense. Now it is clear to me what the main five classes need to study along with other Books related to Clinical Trial Part of it.

No more questions regarding this topics.

Thanks
