ProDear colleagues,

I am really sorry if this information was already provided in other discussion or thread, but I couldn't find it in during my search.

It is not clear to me the prerequisites for each certification. My goal for 2020 it's to become an Advanced Programming certified professional, but do I have to take the Base Programming first? If so, do I have to take the Programming Fundamentals before it?

Thank you!

The Base Programming Specialist is a requirement to earn the Advanced Programming Professional.

There is no prerequisite for the Base Programming Specialist.

The Associate/Fundamentals is a stand-alone credential.

Thank you, Mark. After re-reading the landing page for the Advanced Certification several times I found this excerpt:

"Candidates who earn this credential will have earned a passing score on the SAS 9.4 Advanced Programming Performance-Based Exam and hold a current SAS Base Programmer for SAS 9 or SAS Certified Specialist: Base Programming Using SAS 9.4 credential."

I'd like to suggest a better aproach on this. Maybe turn this prerequisite more explicit and obvious.
