Hi,

I am seeking some advice regarding the BASE SAS certification exam.

Having practiced SAS extensively in SAS On Demand for Academics, I've decided to opt for SAS Studio during my upcoming exam. I'm curious to know if there are any notable differences between the two platforms and if any additional preparation is recommended specifically for using SAS Studio during the exam.

Your insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

The main difference with SAS Studio on the exam vs. what you have experienced with SAS Studio in On Demand for Academics is that in the exam SAS Studio is installed on the lab computer rather than it being cloud based as it is with On Demand for Academics. Files are accessed directly on the lab computer rather than loading them to the cloud. There is a file shortcut in Studio for access to the folders used for the exam, and the file paths are short and explicitly provided in the exam. We have not found that this change has been a problem for candidates that have prepared with On Demand for Academics.

Read the A00-231 Tips and Strategies article and watch the videos that are linked from there and you will be well prepared to use SAS Studio during the exam. Good Luck!

@Nipun22 There is a confidentiality agreement for anyone who has taken the exam that prevents disclosure of exam content. Generally speaking, difficulty is dependent on each candidate's preparation. For those that are minimally qualified (taken and absorbed the recommended training and has 3-6 months experience with the relevant software), the exam will be moderately challenging. Those with more experience will find it easier and unqualified candidates will find it very challenging.

There are sample questions to give you an idea of the difficulty of the questions for each exam available on https://www.sas.com/certification. Also, as you near the end of your preparation, there are also free practice exams to assess your final readiness for the exam.
