I am new to SAS and i need some help.  Is there Syntax that would allow me to use a dynamic title in my control charts in SAS?  I have a macro that creates the charts by recordtype and overwrites the file and chart each time the macro runs.  I would like to use the &RecType variable and place it in the chart.  I have tried the below with no luck.

proc shewhart data=work.OUTLIERS; xchart _SUBX_* month / sigmas=2;  run;
Title=&RecType
RUN;

Please advise.

Try:

%Let Heading=Heading for a chart;

Title "&Heading.";

proc shewhart data=work.OUTLIERS; xchart _SUBX_* month / sigmas=2;  run;

RUN;

Title;

if you change the code to be what you want (note the double rather than single quotes).

Title "&RecType";
