Hi there,
I'm trying to use the SASObjectManager object to create a workspace on the local SAS server, in a Visual Studio 2005 C# project. I have referenced all the necessary type libraries. The following C# code snippet...
ObjectFactory objectFactory = new ObjectFactory();
SAS.Workspace ws = (SAS.Workspace)objectFactory.CreateObjectByServer("", true, null, "", "");
throws an exception:
Class not registered
0x80040154
Any help would be greatly appreciated -- thanks!
Audi

Hi:
There are syntax examples on this site:
http://support.sas.com/rnd/itech/doc9/dev_guide/dist-obj/winclnt/omcreate.html
http://support.sas.com/rnd/itech/doc9/dev_guide/dist-obj/winclnt/omsamples.html
And specific Visual C++ suggestions here:
http://support.sas.com/rnd/itech/doc9/dev_guide/dist-obj/winclnt/wincplus.html
Your best bet may be to contact Tech Support for help with this.

Hi Cynthia,
Thanks for the quick reply!
I just discovered that the code snippet does not throw an exception when the project is run under Windows XP. My development machine is running Windows Vista so the problem may be OS-specific. I understand SAS (and, logically, the Integration Technologies type libraries) still doesn't support the Vista OS.
Best regards, Audi

Hi,
Vista is not supported until SAS 9.2, so you are right.

Hi Cynthia,
I've found a solution while trying to contact Tech Support:
http://support.sas.com/techsup/unotes/SN/001/001474.html
So it's not Vista-related, afterall. 🙂
Regards, Audi
