Hi,

Would like to check if its possible to convert an existing SMP architecture into MPP without a reconfiguration?

 

SAS 9/4 Products: 

-IFRS9
-RGF / MIP / VAAR

 

Current Setup: SMP

Metadata
Compute
Midtier

 

Intended New Setup: MPP
Metadata
Compute
Compute2
Compute3
Midtier

 

Is this possible without a re-install/re-configure of the environment?

In a grid configuration on Linux the compute SASHome and SASConfig are shared so the install/config is only performed once on the initially configured compute host, so you would not need to reinstall/reconfigure to add grid nodes.

Does the same approach apply to LASR being converted to MPP?

Seems the document only covers the compute servers, workspace, Stored Process, Pooled Workspace
