Hello,
We are currently looking into what would be required if we were to rebuild out mid-tier SAS server as part of a change to our environment. And are trying to get an understanding of how this might impact content stored. So just wondering does anybody know generally what type of physical content & databases would be affected should we have to rebuild our mid-tier server? (Are we talking WebDav / WIP / VA Reports / CI Studio Campaign etc...)
I've been taking a look at http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/biwaag/69837/PDF/default/biwaag.pdf and so far not got through much of the detail in there, so thought i would also put my query on here.
Many Thanks in advance.
Tom
Hello Both,
Thank you for your responses, we managed to also get answers from our TAM & an architect who advised that this content is infact items such as VA Reports / CI Studio Campaign diagrams / Stored Processes / BI objects / Digital Content etc and the database content was the WIP Database Server (however as you mentioned Jag, this is currently on our SAS APP Server) .
Many Thanks,
Tom
Hi there,
using the Deployment Manager, you could rebuild the web apps, see
Does that help?
Thanks
Anja
Hi Tom.
Would you elaborate a bit on what you mean by rebuild you middle tier? For example, are you needing to move the middle tier to a new server?
The SAS middle tier stores report content on the middle tier and some content in the Web Infrastructure Platform Database Server on your "compute" (SASApp) tier. Thus the answer to your question is going to depend on exactly what you mean and what you are trying to do.
We'll try to give you our persepctive if you can provide more detail.
thanks!
JAG
