Can an administrator install SAS locally on a laptop without me being logged on? I tried to do the install, but it said I had to be an administrator. I know that there can be some reboots needed, but wouldn't the administrator logging in satisfy that?

It will vary based on your company's policies, but typically the teams that perform software installations on workstations always have admin privileges so they can install any software you have requested (because they usually don't let just anyone have admin privileges to install software).

TL;DR - Shouldn't be a problem.
