Hello
I am trying to understand the high-level differences between SAS Office Analytics  and SAS Enterprise BI Server.
I did visit this https://support.sas.com/en/software/enterprise-bi-server-support.html#documentation and this https://www.sas.com/content/dam/SAS/en_us/doc/factsheet/sas-office-analytics-105595.pdf .
Wondering if there is some resource, paper etc. which highlights the differences.
Wondering if SAS Visual Analytics can be had in SAS office Analytics Server?

You might want to call SAS and ask them about it.  They have such a broad array of products/solutions, I don't understand what most of them are.  I've never heard of this SAS Office Analytics product.  Looking at the brochure, it doesn't mention Viya at all.  So it's possible that it actually uses an EBI server in the background.  The brochure mentions Visual Analytics 7.4, which is an old version.

As I understand it, Visual Analytics is included in SAS office Analytics Server.

The main difference is EBIS is an older offering with legacy components such as OLAP Server, Web report Studio etc.

Hi @thesasuser

Be aware, few products/components of the EBI software bundle have been deprecated/retired in the latest maintenance release of the SAS 9.4 platform (9.4 M8).

Which means, your reference docs might be out-of-date. check this online doc to more details

Hope this helps

My experience is that SAS Office Analytics and SAS Visual Analytics are separate product bundles and are licensed separately. They can of course be installed together if required if you go for SAS VA 7.5, the version of VA that runs on SAS 9.4. I'm fairly sure that SAS EBI is a deprecated product bundle that is no longer available, but it is analogous to SAS OA in most respects.

Please note that SAS VA 7.5 is the last version of VA available on SAS 9.4 and was released in 2019. SAS VA on Viya is now considerably ahead of VA 7.5 in terms of functionality and performance with updates being provided monthly. Viya and VA on Viya is a completely different architecture though and IMHO requires careful evaluation to understand this.
