Hi All,

I  have a user that deleted a nummber of libnames from a server definition in EG.

We can recover the metadata from backup but that requires some user impact.

is there a way to find the deleted libnames in a log / audit file and manually recreate them  ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I think you may find entries in the metadatserver log file of the day when library was deleted.

Go to below folder in your set up and find the relevnat logs.

<SASHOME>/Config/Lev1/SASMeta/MetadataServer/Logs

Hi,

to be clearer, what @RahulG indicated is useful to know when the libraries have been deleted. If you find the date, and you have a metadata or server backup from that date, you can make a SAS export package from the metadata of that day, restore again the backup of the current date, and import the SAS package.

Another option,if you can find the libname definitions on the logs, as you mention, you can recreate them. This you can find most likely on the Workspace server logs, or on the Stored Process Log, or batch jobs, if you have them configured appropiately.

Hi,

do you by any chance have the Environment Manager set up? i believe in the Report Center, there are reports

that you could use to find deleted tables, libraries and information on changes a user made.

Another more adventurous option is to restore to a test system and then move the missing data to the prod system.

Granted that your environment consists of a dev/test/prod environment.

With this, production would continue w/out effecting any users.

Thanks

Anja
