Hi Team, we are planning to upgrade our GRID environment from SAS 9.4M7 to M8 release on new servers with the same topology as our M7 deployment. My understanding is I could use the SAS Migration utility(SMU) in order to help me to do an automated migration. My questions are 1) I am not very familiar with a Grid migration and I don't see anyone mentioning about it so any advice will be really appreciated. Where to start with Grid migration? Does SMU cover any Grid migration part? 2) Our old SAS 9.4M7 environment is running REHL 7.9 so Java11 is not installed. Not sure if Java11 is supported on REHL7.9? I am wondering how I run SMU? Should I run SMU from M7 or M8 depot? 3) Also, please help me regarding the prerequisites of upgrades from M7 to M8 and the process involved. Thanks in Advance, Pierre

Hi, I am wondering if someone could provide help... Now we are using SMTP to send emails and we noticed that user can send email on behalf of somebody else using SAS servers with Display Manager and Enterprise Guide. Code example: * Automatic Parameters: *; %let email_to ="pdupuis@cihi.ca" ; %let email_from ="Mickey Mouse <MickeyMouse@cihi.ca>"; %let email_cc ="Mini Mouse <MickeyMouse@cihi.ca>"; * Step: Sending log via email: *; %macro SendEmail; filename outbox email "null" emailsys=smtp from=(&email_from.); data _null_; file outbox to=(&email_to.) cc=(&email_cc.) subject="Test email" lrecl=256; put " "; put "Hi,"; put " "; put "This is a test email."; put " "; put " "; run; run; %mend; %SendEmail We wish to enabled the SMTP authentication but because of our security rules we cannot allow our SAS users to have their password save in their SAS program even though it is encoded using "pwencode" or save using macro variable under a personal location. I asked TS and apparently the only secure way is to use "pwencode" to save the password. Does anyone figured a way? Thanks. Pierre.
