The WALD option on the COVTEST statement might do what you want.  Try      covtest / wald;   That will match the results you would see from MIXED (using COVTEST option) if your model had normal errors.   ... View more

Hey Reeza,   Sorry for the delay in responding, I've been in meetings. Yes, I can run the code you posted perfectly. I was about to copy over the logbook and attach it here when I realized the logbook said that the model failed to converge and so deleted the output file, which I think is the answer to the problem I've been having!
