Can anyone recommend a resource for Kubernetes training? The training would be unrelated to SAS but will be useful knowledge when learning how to administer SAS Viya. I am not sure where to search for this type of training that is more than YouTube videos. I'm interested in a legitimate course. Thank you for any input you may have on this topic!

I have followed the directions of Chris Hemedinger and Joseph Henry for retrieving the token needed for interacting with SharePoint and OneDrive. I have an Azure API with a client secret. I am trying to figure out how to best lock down the value of the client_secret and yet have it accessible to the users of my environment so that they can utilize the API calls from SAS to o365 SharePoint Online. What is the recommended method to hide this value? I thought of a %include, but that needs to be readable for their code to work. I thought of burying a macro value but any savvy user would know %put &thesecret. ; in a SAS session would show the literal value. Thank you in advance for sharing your thoughts and experiences in this thread.

Thanks, SASKiwi. I did not find anything but that maintenance statement when I searched for new features of v8.3 and wanted to be sure. My company deploys the client software with automated packages; I don't have any control over the process other than providing the depot for that team to package up what I need (unfortunately).

Hi Admins, My group is currently running SAS 9.4M6 with EG 8.1. I need to upgrade my client software for the group and I'm trying to decide if I should go to v 8.2 with all the hotfixes to match another SAS group's software at my company OR upgrade to v8.3 which is listed as "a maintenance release that addresses reported issues in the SAS Enterprise Guide software." Am I understanding it correctly that v8.3 does not contain more features but rather "all the bug fixes"? Thanks for your help! Denise

Our software packaging team (they package into automation the client software distribution process) keeps asking me if we will get a new depot with an upgraded Deployment Manager (2.17). Does anyone have information about an updated deployment manager?

I found the meeting to be very informative (and timely) for me as my site is exploring migrating to the cloud. I enjoyed the format and the trivia game. Do the breakout room moderators have topics of discussion to suggest if the attendees are not offering up any questions or topics? That's the only area of improvement that I would suggest in case there is a silence. I'm looking forward to the September meeting!

Thanks! I did see this before but just reviewed it again and found the answer to my latest question regarding viewing reports when I do not have VA installed. The answer is "Today, development has offered to help with report creation for SAS 9 Inventory, SAS 9 Profile customers that don’t have SAS Visual Analytics. Development can’t provide an expected time frame or SLA for this report creation. Demand and development bandwidth will impact turnaround time. When customers need this help, they must be willing to share their results with SAS Technical Support for further assistance."

Thank you! I'm assuming that if we don't have VA licensed and installed (we do not), we need to engage SAS to help with the analysis part so we can see the reporting.

Replying to myself as I found the answer. I transferred the file to the Linux server using FTP software and the transfer mode was set to default. When I transferred it to the server in BINARY mode, the tar command worked much better for me. I'd still love to hear from you if you have used this tool before! Did you use it for the same purpose as me (cloud planning)?

Hi All, I'm trying to get started with the SAS 9 Content Assessment Tool in preparation for future cloud migration planning. The tool indicated (on the readme.txt file) that there are detailed instructions inside the tar file. However, when I ran this command on Linux (tar zxvf SAS9ContentAssessment.v1.13.lax.tgz) I got a new folder named "assessment" and a file that I cannot read called "publishAssessedContent". I'm not off to a brilliant start. Can anyone help get me passed this hurdle? Thanks! Denise

How did you update from "sasmeta.test.com" to "testmeta.test.com"? Did you use SAS Depolyment Manager for "update Host Name References"? If so, do you have a multiple tier update where you need to run that on each tier?

Thanks, Greg. I did review it after you provided the link. I don't clearly see that type of reporting provided out-of-the-box. I'd need to look for custom librefs and names to parse. I did see some reports that I'd be interested in using for different purposes so I will be setting up the data mart to read the log for other purposes.
