We had a similar problem which was rectified by a call to SAS tech support. When registering the library in SMC you need to explicitly assign the library to the relevant metadata server - in our case SASApp. Check the assignments in the library properties to make sure that it is assigned correctly. if you can assign a folder on the EBI server into which you have write rights for your EG processes, at the start of your code, assign that folder like [pre] libname user 'that folder defined in EBI server' ;[/pre] Then any one-level data set name which would normally be referenced in the WORK. library will be read or written from that USER folder. Hi: I find setting up data libraries in SAS Management Console to be fairly easy. Have you taken the Platform Administration courses or any of the BI training? I'm not sure why you are having issues with setting up an ODBC data library -- but I'm sure that Tech Support could help you figure out how to do this. As a general rule, if you have BI, I don't recommend bypassing the metadata server connection information unless you have a reason for bypassing the security that comes with the metadata on the BI Platform. cynthia ...
