Forgot to mention ... we are a "middle" size shop ... 200 concurrent jobs running during slow hours. There are no big solutions, just SAS analytics.

We are installing SAS9.4M8 and have an additional consideration to think about and want to get your opinion. We are also running Platform Suite for SAS (Grid). For performance ... is it better to have more physical servers with lower CPU (8 nodes with 8 cores within a grid) or fewer physical servers with higher CPU counts (4 nodes of 16 core)?

Is this to be changed on all web.xml files?

We are running a Platform grid 9.4M6 and 9.4M8 SAS environment and were recently told we need to rotate every password used within the application. Has anyone done this before? How would we go about finding all the places to change? Thank you

We are receiving many error messages when trying to validate servers: ERROR: Libref SSR_CONF failed to assign from logical server. and ERROR: Libref SSR_CONF is not assigned. I have been searching configuration files and metadata and cannot find where this is assigned. Any help would be most appreciated as this is preventing a successful deployment of SAS 9.4M8. Thank you.

My management has a question ... what version is SAS MDM available in? They want to see actual documentation not just the word of someone. He was told that the last version was 9.4M7. Thank you for your guidance.

In a few other posts there were notes about SAS EG and other desktop applications are not affected by the log4j vulnerability. However, when I run the suggested search I do find a log4j file under SAS Deployment Manager. The manual resolution for this file on the server is to zip the file up. Can this file be simply deleted on the desktop to remediate the vulnerability? I do see there is a windows version of loguccino. Is it necessary to have administrator rights to a workstation to run this tool?

Since moving to SAS9.4M6/Enterprise Guide 8.2 our users state that there is a connection statement that appears like the libnames have all been dropped. When the session comes back to SAS from Oracle, for instance, the libname will no longer be active and the job crashes. Has anyone else experienced this type of behavior? The only workaround we have tried is copying the libname statement after every step. We also have the keepalive option on the workspace server set to 600, which is beyond the default. Would it help to increase that option and how big can we make it? Thank you for your advice.

It turns out that the email address was missing in about half of the users in SMC. After adding that information the users started getting notified. Thank you for your assistance!

Thank you for the reply. Where would I find that notification parameter. I have been selecting everything in the GUI and can not find where this is set.
