I want to schedule a process flow from EG4.3 to run on the SAS BI Platform over night and then log off my PC. When I use the EG scheduler, it gets scheduled to run on the BI platform, but the scheduler is managed on my PC. So, if I logoff my PC, the job is cancelled. How do I get the job sheduled and managed on the BI PLATFORM so I can logoff my PC?

Instead, the FILE statement will use the string to create statfile.dat in the current working directory.

GPLOT titling issue I am using V9.2 for Windows. I have 4 title lines, TITLE1-4, that I want to output. Everything worked until I tried to reuse TITLE2 for a second plot. If I define TITLE2 after defining TITLE3 & TITLE4, the last 2 title lines don't come out. Is there a way to preserve titles 3 & 4 when I change title 2?

We have a SAS BI platform installed on, let's say, server#1. When I try to access a SAS library on another server, let's say, server#2, we get the error message: "User does not have appropriate authorization level for library 'library name'" User is able to access that directory location locally from the Run command box on server#1. So, to me it looks like the OS permissions are correct, but when SAS tries to assign a library, from the SAS server as that user, it fails with an authorization error: It seems like SAS itself does not have the permission to access the data on the other server. Any ideas on how to fix this?

When I try to create a stored process in EG4.2, it works. My valid connection to the BI Platform is authenticated through the Windows active directory at our site. I am never asked for ID and password. But, when I try to create the same stored process using EG4.3, the UserID/Password window pops up. I fill it in and it rejects me with the following error: "ConnectionFactory Failed to return a valid connection". Any ideas??

I am having difficulty getting a Congressional District Map that looks like the State map that is generated from the maps.us2 feature table dataset, which includes and good positioning of the continental US and Alaska and Hawaii in the lower left part of the output. I have imported the CD_110 shape file of all the states from Census and have been playing with PROC GPROJECT and I cannot get it to happen. Can anyone give me some code for GPROJECT to use or does anyone have the actual feature table, like US2 for states, already done for the 110th Congressional district? Thanks, John

if you are dealing with event history data, use PROC EXPAND, which is a point & click task in EG.

We use an RSUBMIT sandwich from SAS/Connect with an ODS PDF sandwhich in it to have our PC talk to the mainframe process 200 million records and produce a PROC Tabulate table. We then use PROC download to send the output to our server. (If we take the MF output directly to EG the style information does not translate across the platforms, so, we only get the usual old ascii version of the table sitting in a PDF doc.) We then go into the server list of EG, click on the files folder, work our way to the PDF file and drag it into the process flow and connect it to the task with an arrow. This is our way of getting good looking output from the MF. The problem is this...when we modify the PROC Tabulate for bugs and send it through the same process and have it overwrite the old PDF file, the link in EG still refers to the old version of the PDF file. I cannot find a "refresh" feature. I have to delete the EG icon for the shortcut to the PDF, then go drag it in again. This is annoying as you are trying to debug a program and you have to keep deleting, clicking through the path to the PDf file on the server and dragging it in again. Our first preference would be to bring it into the EG project as a step in the process flow, as you have in other places in EG ("import as a step in the project"). Our second preference would be to be able to refresh the link to go get the new version of the file. Any thoughts? Thanks for your help, John

I know that, in EG, I can go to the server list, then the files list, click my way to a WORD doc, right click and "add to the project" and a link is created to that doc. Is there a way to create a task in EG to do that as a step in a process flow? Is there SAS code that I can put in a code task and run? Also, once I create the link, is there a way to refresh the doc after changes are made to it? The only way I can do it is to delete the link and create the link again. Thanks

I have tried method #1. I keep getting error #2147944309, which I understand means that my logon/password is being blocked somehow. If I do not logoff, it runs fine. Any ideas? I would like to logoff when I go home and have something scheduled to run. By the way, this is set to run completely on my own PC, which has EG4.2 and SAS9.2 installed.

Thanks, everyone, especially Cynthia and polingjw. A combination of both your ideas work for us. Cynthia, I looked at the paper you referenced about complex reports. You show some complex tables that have some features that we could use. You mention that the code is available at the SGF website. I have tried and failed to find it there. Could you please give a link, or email me the code for those tables? Thanks so much for all of your help!

I have row headers in a table that look like: Workers {tab}Retired {tab tab}Full Benefit {tab tab}Reduced Benefit {tab}Disabled I need to use a Proc Format for these headers. Proc Tabulate usually ignores leading spaces. How do I get a tab or spaces to happen in the row headers in Proc Tabulate??

Sorry, I forgot to mention that we have SAS installed on our PC along with EG, so the remote server is not the issue for us. Even when we run the code in Display Manager on a Vista machine with SAS the DDE will not run. And, when we run the DDE code on a PC in EG with SAS installed locally, and has the XP operating system, it runs. So, our issue seems to be about the fact that VISTA has problems with DDE...unless there is a VISTA setting that we need to change. Any ideas?

As far as we an tell, DDE no longer works in the VISTA operating system. It is not a SAS issue. Does anyone know this for sure and/or does anyone have a way to get DDE to work in VISTA and SAS and EG? We have promised ourselves to stop writing DDE code, but we have a bunch of legacy code to deal with. It would be great if we could buy some time to convert the legacy code. BTW, since we are a little fish in a big Company, we don't seem to have the option of halting the switch to VISTA. they want all machines converted bt the end of the calendar year.
