Medication adherence has long been a measure of patient health outcomes and a key factor in regulatory quality assessments for health care organizations. However, only half of patients adhere to their chronic medication (Medication Adherence: WHO Cares?, Marie T. Brown and Jennifer K. Bussell). The SAS Medication Adherence Risk model uses machine learning to identify patients’ risk of being nonadherent based on past patient behavior, patient demographics and social determinants of health data. SAS Viya Workbench is a new offering from SAS, a cloud-native SAS experience that allows users to create workspaces on demand. Coders and developers can use the same SAS they know and love in the cloud, alongside a Python installation that provides the option to use the right tool for the job – all in a self-service platform in the cloud.
