Medication adherence has long been a measure of patient health outcomes and a key factor in regulatory quality assessments for health care organizations. However, only half of patients adhere to their chronic medication (
Medication Adherence: WHO Cares?, Marie T. Brown and Jennifer K. Bussell). The SAS Medication Adherence Risk model uses machine learning to identify patients’ risk of being nonadherent based on past patient behavior, patient demographics and social determinants of health data. In this presentation, we will give an overview of the SAS Medication Adherence Risk product, demonstrate how to implement SAS Medication Adherence Risk using health care data, and examine how the output can be visualized in a report.
